Art and my interest in human behavior have been in the mix for me a very long time. As a young kid, I created (play) communities of people living ordinary lives using a wild assortment of stuff at hand. A favorite theme of mine was helping the poor, wanting all members of the community to be happy. And, like so many children, I loved art.
Many years later, after developing skills in floor loom weaving, floral arranging, and metalsmithing, I joined the world of painters. From the start, I was drawn to abstract, non-representational work.
Wassily Kandinsky, a pioneer in abstract art, influences my work. Instead of nature, he aimed to portray the subtle world of the spirit and emotions. Color, line, and shape formed a visual symphony of his long transformation.

The Group of Nine: The Art Group
In numerology, nine is a completion number. It suggests tying up loose ends, taking a step into further development, and even being complete unto itself. The Art Group has been together for over 10 years and is my source of family-like connections and inspiration in art. These women are oxygen and sunlight for me. Talented, smart, and dedicated both to our members and to their art, what a great gift they are in my life.
